Zwick Pushes Testing of Foodstuffs

With the launch of the Zwick BasicLine (now the ProLine) and the simultaneous push into the market for testing of foodstuffs in 2001, Zwick succeeded in gaining a foothold in a growing sector of industry.

In the meantime, Zwick has sold many testing systems to suppliers in the food industry. The fields of application of these machines range from compression testing of quail eggs, viscosity testing of mustard, mayonnaise, sauces or gelatines to bend testing of waffles. Initial inquiries from pasta manufacturers and fruit and vegetable processing companies indicate that further interesting projects may soon follow.

A closely connected sector to the food industry is the packaging industry: after all, most processed foods are in some way packaged for sale to the consumer. The various requirements placed on packaging materials needs to be verified by testing of the materials used, and Zwick has just the equipment for these applications.
