Zwick launches a brand new range of Xclusive precision load cells

All Xforce load cells feature high resistance to parasitic influences such as transverse forces, bending moments and torques. They also feature a large measurement range, extremely high accuracy, and incorporate Zwick’s market leading “plug and play” self-identifying sensor system. A simple mechanical system enables operators to exchange grips, fixtures and tooling quickly and easily.

Every Xforce load cell fulfils all five criteria of ISO 7500-1 accuracy classes over a very large measurement range, frequently eliminating the need for a second load cell and saves on acquisition, setup time, as well as annual calibration costs.

When used in conjunction with Zwick’s testControl electronics, the Xforce HP and Xforce K load cells offer significantly better linearity than required by ISO 7500 over a larger measurement range than most traditional load cells both at very low forces and also above the rated capacity.

Xforce load cells are extremely robust. Load cells and test fixtures can also be protected via soft and hard limit switches, which limit the crosshead travel.

The intelligent load cells possess a unique electronic identification system which is stored on an internal EEPROM. Once the load cell is connected to the controller all information such as force limits and calibration parameters are automatically recognised, eliminating the need for manual calibration at switch-on or when changing the test configuration.

The serial number of the load cell is logged in the software and can be stored together with the test results or printed out on the test report, minimising the risk of incorrect machine configuration and allowing all data to be fully traceable. All load cells are equipped with the same precision-fitting mechanical plug-in system, allowing grips and test fixtures to be fitted quickly, firmly and in good alignment.

A major and unique advantage of Zwick’s testing systems is their ability to automatically set the reference positions for different test configurations. After that the required reference position can be recalled automatically after each configuration change.
