Getzner relies on Zwick servo-hydraulic testing technology

Vibration insulation and sound insulation are essential elements of many industrial activities if the quality of life of the surrounding population is to be maintained. The rail and construction industries are both major users of vibration insulation, which is often subjected to extreme conditions. Getzner uses a Zwick servo-hydraulic testing machine to ensure that these materials are tested under the most realistic conditions possible.

Key materials for Getzner’s vibration-damping product-range are dimensionally stable but elastically deformable polyurethane plastics (PUR elastomers). They deform under tensile and compression loading but always recover their original shape, providing effective  vibration insulation and reducing damaging shocks to people, environment and materials.

To enable day-to-day checks on production batches and to test the suitability of new product developments for daily use, fatigue tests are carried out on the insulating materials. For this Getzner uses a Zwick HA 100 servo-hydraulic testing machine. Tests can be performed at a maximum force of 100kN, while temperatures from –70 to +250°C can optionally be simulated using the mobile temperature chamber. The testing machine is equipped with testControl II measurement and control electronics, guaranteeing a high level of data accuracy (data acquisition with 24-bit resolution) and a high data acquisition rate (up to 10 kHz).
